Shaft not being an issue (there is of course small amount of additional weight as the shaft gets longer)...

Are the golf head weights in a set of irons relatively uniform? Are they supposed to be? My irons seem heavier P-6 and then 5-3 seem lighter. I realize they are progressive (muscle to cavity) but... I can feel the difference and personally.. .I don't like it (I like the heavier weights). I'm thinking about new clubs and I like Pings... don't know if they are all uniform weight but... they seem to feel like it. Thoughts?

The weight of each club head changes per loft. If I recall correctly, the longer the iron, the lighter the head. The shorter, the heavier. They all feel the same due to the length of a shaft. Think of how you have a putter that's 36". If you cut it down to 33" it all of a sudden feel a lot lighter because you're closer to the head.

I know that same length irons all have the same head weight since they have the same shaft length.
