Handicap Question II

little confused...I've been using the Handicap Tracker on the Dicks Sporting Goods web site, but went to enter in a score (one of my best) my handicap went up! not sure why. I understand that as you add more rounds, the calculation uses an increasingly number of scores until you reach 20 rounds, of which it uses your best 10.
Having 14 rounds entered with a handicap of 11.5, I entered in my best score ever of an 85 (slope 130, rating of 70.6, bogey rating of 94.7) but the handicap went up to an 11.6! While i understand I've now increased my number of rounds that will be used in the calculation, with my most recent round added being my best one, why would the handicap go up?

Your best score isn't always your best differential.

(85 - 70.6) * (113/130) = 12.5. Multiply that by 0.96 and still get 12.0.

Makes sense to me your handicap would go up.

guess if I had done the math, it'd be obvious...just didn't seem right to me. Thanks for clearing that up!
