Hey guys, I was just wondering what you look out for when watching your own swing back on film from a down the line position?

A few of the things I look out for are;

1) My head doesn't raise upward on the backswing.
2) My hands appear just above my head at the top of the backswing.
3) My hands haven't drifted forwards towards the ball at impact compared to address.
4) The club head almost travels up through my hands on the backswing and preferably below my hands on the downswing.

So, what do you look at when watching your swing?

I watch in several ways, of course I don't have the ability to film myself but in the mirror.

1) Swing line. My main cause of a mis-hit is when I convince myself I'm going to hook or slice the ball and my swing path is like \ or /
2) Grip. Again, a personal thing. When I began playing the club started turning in my hands, leading to a huuuge slice
3) Lower Body. It's where the power is generated. If the form there isn't solid then there's no point in paying attention to the other stuff because there will be no distance
4) Follow through. Check to be sure the hips lead the arms, the face is square and level at impact, and the drive is through the ball and the arms don't cancel the swing after contact.

I think there are general things to look for but a lot of it is personal, you know what you mess up so you know how to fix it

All those things are good, but I try to look at the big picture. Swing plane, coordination of the upper and lower body, and weight transfer. I've been trying to get my left wrist flatter at the top of the backswing via video, and I lost focus on the overall swing. My arms and hands became too active. Watching this video regained my focus on the importance of the lower body.

When I analysis my swing. I do so with the flight of the ball after I hit the ball. I tend to hook the ball so, I try my best to keept it straight and even try to hit a slight fade. I know what I do when I push the ball or even hit it fat.

This allows me to make any adjustment on the course when I am playing.

I couldn't agree more! Don't over analyze what you're doing. Put the fun into fundamentals...otherwise you're putting mental into it, and that will ruin your day.

Swing plane is the thing I focus on the most, it's hard to hit a bad shot if your on plane.
