So, I started hitting balls at my local muni today, and decided to check the stuff at the Ping tent down the line. The guy had me take 5 swings with my nike 5900 square diamana blue x 8.5* driver, so i did, and was hitting it decently (lower than i want), and told him that i have been having trouble with the low lefts. he said he could concoct a driver for me in no time. so i started with a 9.5 X stiff - hit some low lefts, guy works me all the way up to a 13.5* driver! obviously i was skying the hell out of it by then, but why the heck not if it was for the sake of my game (and his quota).. so after some more testing, he works me out to a 10.5* with a UST AXIVcore red 69X. the launch was around 11* with 2800 spin rate. the club felt great. BUT I didnt want to get swindled. Thats why i need you guys to do the swindling for me. Does this sound right? a high loft like 10.5 with such a stiff high-kick shaft? BTW my swing speed is around 110-114 and was carrying that thing anywhere from 260-280. SHOULD I BUY IT??? ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE CLUB OR SIMILAR LAUNCH CHARACTERISTICS WITH A RECOMMENDATION? thanks!

Did you even say what driver it is haha????
But the PING reps are fantaisic, what ever they say i would trust!
But yes, my old driver was a 10.5 with lower launch shaft (White board) and that got my spin raitings around to what they should be. But 11 is a good launch angle and the spin raitings are a little low I thought (but i might be wrong, can't rember what they are ment to be)
If it works, GO FOR IT! :D

Tiger used a 10.5* driver last year.

I think drivers (low spin) and shaft technology has come so far that the game is no longer "lower loft and stiffer shaft" for better players.

Was it a G15 or an i15 driver? Does not matter much excpet for that the i15 is more open at address...but to your question I don't think this sounds unreasonable...meaning if the results are what you want in your game (direction, distance and ball flight) then why not???

TEE - XCG6, 13º, Matrix Ozik HD6.1, stiff
Wilson Staff - Ci11, 3-SW, TX Fligthed, stiff

The AXIVcore is not really a high kick shaft...when I was fitted, it produced a medium to low, boring flight.

I too was a little hesitant to get a higher loft than what I normally played, and I was looking to get a G15. However, you can't argue with the numbers, so I went with what produced the best results for me at the time. And to reply to another poster. there is a pretty big difference between the G and the i drivers, more than just face angle. Different sounds, weight, and shape produce far different results. Most people prefer the G.

Westwood uses an 11º driver which is more loft than mine

Haven't hit the club with the shaft you described, but the UST AXIVcore Red 69 shaft is a medium to high launch. If you liked the outcome and it gave you better results than what you currently have then buy it...A number of years ago when I was a Henry Griffitts club fitter, our fit cart didn't have labels on the shafts, just color coded tape. I could fit a player using ball flight, and never ever have to tell them that they hit a regular 'Hi-kick' shaft better than the X-shaft they currently had. So rely on the outcomes, and don't pay too much attention to numbers (I know others will give me grief, but this game is about feel and feel leads to confidence)
PS high loft is the new "in" due to the spin rate of today's golf balls and better shaft (loading) technology.
