Best Friend Leaving

My best friend, the one who has looked after me for the past 3 years, is now gradulating. I decided i wanted to write him a goodbye letter. I do not know what else to include, so if you could help that would be wonderful. This is what i have so far.

First I would like to say congratulations, and that I wish you the best of luck for your coming future. I am writing this to show my appreciation for what you have done to help me during my two years of high school. The second day of golf practice when we first met, I remember that day quite well. I wasn’t doing too good, and was very nervous. I didn’t have anyone to talk to, then all of a sudden you came up to me and started talking to me. This made my day a lot better, from then on you have become one of the bigger role models to me. From that you day you took me under your wing and became the bigger brother I never had. You have looked after me like I was your brother, even when everyone was making fun of me, you were always stuck up for me.

I do have to admit that next year will be difficult not having your leadership on the course or field anymore, and also not running into you in the hallways.

You are fortunate to have experienced a true friend in life. Some people go a life time without what you experienced, true friendship.

You may have an opportunity to touch someone life as your best friend became your true friend. I am sure that the opportunity for you to change roles and you become the role model for someone younger might happen someday and maybe soon.
