Hi everyone...

South African living in Surrey, England for 6 years. Member at Silvermere http://www.silvermere-golf.co.uk .

Playing for 12 months now and seeing the better side of 19 handicap. Took 10 years off golf to sail, but the weather is too crappy here to justify the 50 mile drive each way to The Solent for "no sailing", so back at the greens...

Thanks for the reply. Your club looks lovely! Epsom & Ewell have a number of good clubs in the vicinity, as does the whole of Surrey. cost of play seems a lot cheaper in NZ than here...

The few time I have played Silvermere I really enjoyed it. Especially good fun sitting in the clubhouse ducking balls andwatching people struggle with the 17th and 18th.

      Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
