i have a winn giant pistol grip and i love it. my putting problem was i would be way to wristy in my stroke and would never put a good roll on the ball. with the new grip i roll the ball much better. fyi, it took me a while to regain the feel on long putts. idk if its just me, but long putts with the new grip have a different feel now. that being said, i never go back to a standard grip

i put one on my putter less than a week ago. i personally think it helps me with feel, and keeps my wrist out of the equation.

i added a SuperStroke grip to my Odyssey 2-ball putter after getting yippy on short puts. It really has reduced my hand/wrist action. Note at least for the original SuperStroke, the putter didn't feel right for a while due to the weight of the grip. After several big strips of lead tape on the putter head, and voila, it feels normal again and my putting is a LOT better now. very happy with the decision.

I agree with all the posts above but one thing I noticed when I added a bigger putter grip is that it made a big difference in the feel of the putter. It really deadened the feel off the face for me but I've gotten used to it now so it's fine.

The theory behind a larger grip taking the hands out of the stroke is good, but if your wrists are breaking down, a grip the size of a redwood tree isn't going to help. You need a sound putting stroke from the get-go. A visit to YOUTUBE and search "putting tips" would be a good start. Or a lesson from your local pro.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.
