Titleist 585 Hybrid

Today I bought a demo Titleist 585 H Hybrid at our shop with an Aldilia NV Hybrid stiff shaft in it.

Perfect condition. Barely even hit, and when it was, it was hit inside.

I paid $50 for it. Did I get a good deal? I've been looking for a 18-19 degree Hybrid to go between my 3 wood and 4 hybrid and after hitting this on the range, I felt like it would be a great club. I was kind of leaning towards an Adams hybrid, but didn't want to spend the extra money. What do you think?

I love mine. I picked it up for $70 and it was used but just barely. I liked it because the flight is lower than my older Cobra and plus I enjoy the 104g V2 shaft vs. my old stock aldila cobra shaft.

You got a great deal. They're not as forgiving or hot as the 909 series is, but they have more of a iron like feel. The shaft alone might be worth the price you paid for it.

      _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.

      Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.

      I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
