Mine just arrived today...
What's the benefit of the elastic towel loop? Do you no longer use the metal pear shaped ring that comes with towels? Do you just tuck the towel under the elastic?

My towels have little plastic clips on them so I clip that to the towel loop but then I often double the towel over and run the bottom end through the loop so it isn't hanging totally free. Not sure why I do this....but it keeps the towel in place and is still handle to pull out fully when needed.

I don't really use it, but I like slide13's idea of doubling it back and tucking it into the loop. I will have to give that a try.
I really like my Grom and all of the pocket locations, it is very well set up. My only complaint is the pen / divot repair tool pocket. The mini sharpie I use to mark my ball settles down too far and I have trouble getting it out.

Enjoy your new bag.

I clip it on and also got a clip which attach the towel to holder on the frontside of the bag. This prevents the towel from getting under the legs, which is a nuisance.

I use the towel loop. My towel isn't attatched to the bag at all, but the loop does a great job of keeping it there. I keep one corner of the towel pulled under the loop and wipe my clubs on it like usual, but if I need to I just pull the towel off and then I can take it to the green or whatever. IMO it's one of the bag's better features.

The only issue I have with the bag is that it is a bit on the heavy side. I've got another stand bag and I've pretty much decided to use the Grom whenever I'll be riding and use my other bag for carrying. It's a tough call but my old bag feels noticably lighter and I like it's straps better. The Grom's straps are a bit on the thin side and nowhere near as comfortable. My other bag is a Wilson Staff Tour stand bag, but it's sure hard to beat the layout and storage options the Grom provides.

This is how i was thinking it was meant to be used, but I couldn't find anything about it online. Also, good to see you didn't mention losing any towels

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
