Are they bad for the clubs? I have heard mixed feelings some say they destroy the groves some say they don't. I really like to use them while im playing to get the club clean quick when a towel doesn't do the job.

i dont know if they mess up the grooves, but if your clubs have a chrome finish, then the metal brushes will mess up the finish.

No they don't. Not the ones made for golf anyway, with brass bristles. I've been using them on my forged and chromed Titleist AP-2 irons for 1½ years now and they have done no harm whatsoever. That is just another myth perpetuated by internet golf forums. They don't hurt a thing, and they do keep the grooves cleaner than anything else. I clean my club after every shot, with a brush and damp towel.

Just for the record, brass is not as hard as chrome. Chrome rubbed on brass will scratch brass, brass will not scrath chrome. It woudl be like saying, this glass scrathed my diamond.

I do metal work from time to time and was brush bushing as they will wear away before the steal will. Use your brass brush and think about it now more, you will do a lot more damage by swinging you club into the dirt.
