I do this on one of the holes of a course I play. Tee it it up just a touch higher than normal, same ball position. Then hit the tee, not the ball, with a swing still going slightly downward. If you know you're going to use this shot on the course, hit it a few times during your warm-up to make sure you've got it figured out.

I'll give this a try. Thanks =)

when i wanna hit a high ball i usually play a cut, and i actually tee the ball slightly lower. the reason for this is that i hit down on the ball a touch more, thus creating the backspin to get the ball up quickly. i also have a high swing speed and compress the ball alot with every club, so it may not be for everyone. before learning this technique i would just tee the ball up higher and really try to swing up into the ball.

An easy way to get the ball up with any club is to weaken your grip. Rotate your top hand so your knuckles are facing a little further down. This make you swing more upright, which will cause you to hit the ball higher, but you may also end up fading it. I probably wouldn't do this if you already hit a slice, you will also lose a small amount of distance.

Had a too-high-for-me tee at the range today, and I was ballooning drives way more than I cared to. (Found it very hard to adjust to the height)
Home runs in an elevator shaft.

Slightly weaker grip also gets them up more, but the penalty can be too much sidespin for me.

I've seen people balloon a drive over huge trees off the tee. How on earth do you do that? I would love to have this shot in my bag

I found it's all in the shaft I don't care what degree your driver is I now play the Diamana Blue, If I want to hit low I'll switch to my first shaft. Its cool you can mix your shafts, it makes life easer in golf

Thanks to you all

Or hit a 16 degree driver like I do! I do hit this driver high. I can hit it insanely high if I open up and release early.

When I first got it the thing was perfect. I tinkered with my stroke a bit now I get 230 carry and 1 yard roll

    • Day 44 - Hit some wedges with the intention of working on my 100-yard shot, but instead worked the face a bit. Intentionally trying to hit the toe, heel, and center of the face. I definitely have a heel bias, but focusing on turning my body helped to get things in the center.
    • I think for this, I need to work on my weight transfer. I can feel my self looking up early and falling back slightly. So, I am hitting them a bit fat right now. I need to stay on my left side better or get to my left side better. Kind of like old pattern stuff.  Yep, I was a bit worried about the driver since we didn't get to it. First drive was a push draw because I moved the ball back a bit because there is no range to warm up and I wanted to make sure contact was good. I hit it great, just pushed it slightly. I was like, OK, this will work. I moved the ball back to the normal position and the next 4 out of 5 holes I used a driver was just the ball at most 10 yards off my target line. 😃
    • Sounds good for the full swing stuff!
    • Didn’t score the best, but probably the best I’ve done implementing the swing feels on the course.  Preshot routine - make one practice swing hands down only hitting  the ground like 3 ft behind the ball. Make a 2nd practice swing where I add a bit of turn back in.  Set up and make a swing with those feels. Driver - A stripe show. Just laser beams at my target. Like under 10 yards of curve. Irons - pretty solid. Contact was flush. Just slight pull draws. Just need a bit of face control. It’s close. I had an 8 iron that left the club, didn’t leave the flagstick. The ball probably moved 1 yard in the air. I came up like 4 yards short.  Distance wedges - Needs work.  Short Game - needs work from different lies. Putting - Made almost everything inside of 10 ft.  Going forwards, still going to work on the swing. Backswing length and arms down stuff. I need to work on my distance wedges a lot.
    • Reasonably dry by the afternoon/evening. Some players not seeing many or any mud balls. Maybe they should have hit their tee shots lower. 🙂  Also, for as much as this was supposed to be a bomber's paradise… Luke Donald is T3. He'll turn 48 this year.
