Thinking about ordering a set of Callaway Prototype Irons and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these irons. I've been playing a forged iron for the last ten years so I don't expect much of a feel difference from my current set.

Just looking for some input before I make this purchase. Any input or opinions would be appreciated.

I've played quite a few high end blades over the past couple of years and, without a doubt, if I were to buy a set of irons from a major OEM tomorrow, I'd be bagging a set of Callaway Prototypes. These are great blades.

Sooo....I went to place my order on a set of Callaway Prototypes only to find out that they have been discontinued. Being a lefty sucks sometimes when it comes to equipment purchases.

Callaway doesn't currently offer a "players" iron set with the Prototype & X-Forged iron sets no longer being offered. Anyone know if they are going to be coming out with a new line anytime soon?

I was at a demo day a week ago and I was disappointed to hear about the proto's as I was on the verge of buying. They are a nice blade and they are forgiving but I wouldn't say they were easier to hit than other blades mishits still suffer greatly. Anyway the rep was telling me that there is another x-tour on the way and that should be followed by another blade iron. The x-tour should be out this year and the blade would be earlier next year. The downside is I only believe about 40% of everything he says because he gives a lot of bad information. My favorite was him telling me that callaway was going to come out with a 6 piece golf ball and continue to make the i series balls for 19.99. If I was going to make a guess I think callaway might move the diablo forged to a x-tour type iron.

I'm sure if you looked around you could find the x-proto's in LH somewhere. I decided on the ping s57 irons as they are a touch more forgiving. Good luck with your search...
