Just played in my second scramble in as many weeks and in each it was 3 vs. 4. In the first scramble, we put the worst 2 guys on the team of 4 and we played it even. In the second, the team of 3 was allowed to hit 4 shots each time, with the person hitting two times alternating from shot to shot.

What do you think is equitable for uneven scrambles? What about if there was a team of two? Each person can hit twice per shot?

I've seen it played several ways.

In our weekly mens scramble one of the teams is uaully shorted. The shorted team gets an extra putt at any ball on the green but no rule about who has to take it.

I've seen it done with the same putt rule, and an option to let someone tee off twice, alternating like you said. And I've seen it like you mentioned above.

Speedwise I like our weekly rule. Equity wise I imagine it should be an extra shot every shot. Don't know why you'd have a team of 2 when they could just split some folks add 1 to two teams and not have any that short of players, but if it happened I could see a case for 2 shots each.
