Ping G10 Hosel Question

I recently purchased a used Ping G10 Driver at Edwin Watts. I pulled the aftermarket shaft that was installed in the head and am trying to install a GD Pershing with a .350 tip. My understanding is the G10 is a .350 dia. I prepped the tip of the GD and inserted it in the G10 head (my tip prep just took off the paint, I didnt go crazy with it). It is noticeably loose? Am missing something here? When I pulled the 1st shaft I noticed a shim, but it was completely crumpled at the bottom of the hosel (plus the shaft was .350 as well). Im a little confused on why the shaft fits so loosely? Any suggestions?

Use some shafting beads in the epoxy or another shim.

Im familiar with Shims but not the shaft beads. Comparatively, which is better?

Really depends on how sloppy it is in the hosel. Personally I like and use beaded epoxy in all my builds. If it was a .335 going into a .350 a shim, but a sloppy .350 into .350, beads or beaded epoxy.

I think a shim would make me feel better, accompanied by a collared ferrule. Thanks for the hlp
