I am in the Champaign area, what courses do you play? I have been playing Blue Needles mostly because its a nice low traffic course...

I live just south of Champaign in Camargo. If you ever want to come down here I play in Villa Grove it is a private couse so it is quiet. I can bring you out if you want to play something new it is $1/hole for guests. I have a lot of friends that play at Catlin and enoy it. The Legends is a par 3 course on the west side of Champaign and it is something different and fun. Right now I am nursing fractured ribs so I haven't been able to play for a few weeks but am going to the doc now to see how much longer I am on the bench. I also play Oakland it is nice. I have played Stone Creek a few times but it is to nice for a hack like me. Let me know we can try and get together sometime and play a round. Take care

I know exactly where that's at, I drive that way several times a year to go hunting in Murdock... I don't know how I would do at a private course, I am still getting use to the game and I don't want to hit anybody house or car lol. I am starting to really get better and am starting to straighten out my drives some. I play Legends quite a bit because it is just 5 minutes from my house, and use their driving range also, it is a nice little course... We should try and get together sometime and get a game in on a couse that isnt that busy and layed back... Let me know when you are able to play.

Villa Grove is not one of those private courses it is a 9 hole course that rubs the fields. No houses to hit and you would only have 1 shot to hit a car but you would have to go WAY left. So if you want some new senery......but we should do Legends sometime. Let me know and we can make it happen. Got the ok to play but take it easy I was told. So my swing is very rusty and probably pretty bad since it has been a couple of months. Oh well it is all for fun anyway though.

Mizuno is introducing new technology with their JPX One fairway woods and drivers. The new tech for golf but used tech for Mizuno since it is found in their baseball side of the business, is Nanoalloy. Nanoalloy is a microscopic polymer layer put on the face of their titanium driver. What this layer does is change the elasticity of the driver face and increases ball speed over a larger area of the clubface. Adding a bit more elasticity with this layer, they are conserving the golf balls energy from the impact.  Due to USGA rules, this technology falls under their coating regulations. Which add a correction factor to the ball speed testing done for conforming golf clubs. This rule was introduced when Taylormade went to their carbon clubface. Which I didn't know existed.  I am sure that center strikes are at the USGA limits like all other drivers. This has my interest. I am always, "window shopping", for new golf equipment 😉
