I have a newer set of Ping G5 irons. I like them and hit them well. I recently hit some Ping ISI irons and also hit them fairly well. I like the thinner sole and top line of the isi...at least from a visual standpoint. If anyone has any experience with both of these sets, what would you think about me switching to the older ISI's? Are the G5s that much more forgiving and easier to hit? I can trade my G5s strait up for the ISI's

Four years ago, when I was getting back into golf I bought some ISIs. I went from Eye 2s to ISIs. I LOVED them. They were super easy to hit, looked great at address and performed well.

I still have them, and when I get to a point where I can't play/practice like I do now, I plan to use them again.

Straight up, no freaking way. Your essentially brand new G5's are definately worth more than the Isi's. I say stick with the G's. As you know, they are stupid easy to hit.

The ISIs are easy to hit and look great at address but you'd be crazy to trade your G5s down for a set of them. If you really like them that much hang onto your G5s and keep an eye on Craigslist and Ebay. Steel headed ISIs can be bought at some very reasonable prices. Prices for BeCu and Nickel ISIs run higher but IMHO the nickel headed ones are worth the price.
