Hello.

I was curious when they released the Laguna 2.5. I'm not exactly sure if it is availiable to the public yet, but thats not my concern.

I own a Pro Platinum Laguna 2.5 and I was curious what the difference(s) is between mine and the new Studio Stainless Laguna 2. Does the .5 stand for offset or something? Thanks for all posts!!!

The nomeclature used to SC putters can be a bit confusing/contradictory. The "x.5" designation is currently used to denote a putter than has a flow neck (looks like this one). Your Pro Platinum Laguna 2.5 is more similar to the Studio Select Laguna 2 that is currently being sold (has a plumber's neck). The plumber's neck has less toe hang than a flow neck.

The major differences between your Pro Plaitum and the new Studio Stainless are as follows:

- The Studio Stainless (SS) is made from Stainless Steel as opposed to the Pro Platinum (PP) that is made from Carbon Steel (has a softer feel) that is plated with the PP finish.
- The SS has interchangable weights on the sole that allows you many different weight/length combinations. The PP does not and only came in a 330g/35" combo.
- The SS has a "high toe" that supposedly makes the clubhead look "more square" at address as opposed to the PP that does not have a high toe. You'll have to look at a picture of the high toe because it's too hard to explain in words without further confusing you.
- The markins/paintfill will obviously also be different between the two.

Hopefully that helps you out a bit.

    • Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.
    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
