Very cool, except I can't imagine golfing with a watch on... A $250 golf GPS with no subscription fees is pretty remarkable in any form factor, though.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"

One of my golf partners always wears a watch. There is nobody who hits more fairways or has a better short game. I haven't golfed alot of rounds with a watch, but think it would be easy to get used to. The Garmin producst look good to me and I like the simplicity of the information you get from the S1. I am looking forward to hearing from people who have tried this.

Has anyone purchased the Garmin S1?  Saw a few reviews by purchasers elsewhere. I would like to hear from golfers on this forum.  Right now I plan on getting S1 as soon as the snow melts and the golf courses open up in North Dakota.  May be awhile with flooding predicted.

Purchased Garmin S1 GPS watch and used for the first time on the course yesterday.  The yardage was spot on.  I loved the simplicity and how easy it was to use.  Gave me all the information I needed with yardage to the front, middle and back of the green.  The watch is very comfortable.  I don't usually wear a watch golfing, but did not even know I had it on except when looking down to get my yardage.  By the third hole, my golf partner was asking for yardage.  No hassle passing along that information with the S1.  Great product.  I did fair amount of research as you can see by my earlier posts and could not be happier with my purchse.

    • First going to spain for a long weekend in March probably going to play La Quinta, Los Arqueros and Fina Cortesin, and first week in May will compete in the Crawsnest Tassie at Carnoustie golf links, that will be a full week of golf golf golf and more golf. Did play it last year for the first time and it is awesome.

    • Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.
    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
