Found a killer deal on some new Ping I5's. Granted they are an older club 2007/08 but the price is in my budget (under $300) and the color code (orange) is perfect for my height and wrist/to/floor measurement.

With my handicap (19), should I forget about the I5's and go for a newer game improvement type iron set or will the I5's work for me ?

After wasting my money on Maxfli irons last year, I just want a club that is not having quality issues on me all the time. And the I5's priced under $300 new seems too good to pass up.

The i5's were a decent club but I didn't really care for the feel, or lack there of, they had. I would think that is a decent price but there should be some better GI clubs out there in that kind of range? Just my .02

Follow-up question. I did some more research and saw the Ping G5's are around $399 now at my local shops which includes ordering the specs I need (I am only 5' 3" so I know I will need shortened shafts and lie flattened). I couldnt find the G5's on Ping's site, even under their classic section. Can somebody provide a quick summary on how these irons differ from Ping i5's ?

Any help is appreciated.

In short the "i" irons are "players" and G are GI, I would go for what ever suits you, but if your looking for forgiveness then the G will give you more than the i :)
