So the shoulder strap on my ogio bag is getting to the point where the foam(?) has broken down almost completely, and now the thing is just digging in to my shoulder so bad that I need to do something about it. Has anyone ever doctored up their straps? I was thinking about getting one of those seatbelt cover things to attach to the strap to soften it up a bit. Maybe will see if i can get the padded part from a tour bag and slide that over the strap? Any suggestions?

You might want to call up OGIO for a replacement strap? Titleist sent me a new one when mine ripped so hopefully OGIO will be able to supply you with a replacement. Also, I know there is a company that sells aftermarket straps.

I don't think that the weight of the bag is helping the situation, either. It's not the lightest bag, and throw a lunch and a couple bottles of water, rain gear, etc. and my shoulder starts hurtin after a bit. it wasn't the smartest idea to run stitching down the center of the strap, so when it stretches out, the weight runs along the center of the strap, digging in to your shoulder.

Also, their web site looks like they are pretty anal about warranty stuff, and I didn't save the receipt. I have only had the bag since April, but I've probably put 75+ rounds of golf on it, and ~50 of those were walking.

You my man are a prime candidate for a push cart! Give your shoulder a break and splurge on one before you get a new strap.

I knew this day would come.

Does the sun mountain speed cart work with a stand bag?

It works great with my Ping Hoofer but I'm not sure how well a bag with that foot would work. But I gave up and bought a 14 way divided cart bag. If you do get the Sun Mountain don't forget the seat, cooler, and gps attachment!

    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
