Wonder if they shave irons too?

I'm thinking they would have a thin topline.

The worst "cheaters" are the gimmie putts, the within the grip gimmie started out as a putt that was the length of the clubs grip, now its graduated to the length from club head to the grip. I can attest to the fact that more of that length of putt is missed when the moneys on the line than most of the ten footers.

OK, OK................

Its been stated on tests with a machine, that unless you have a swing speed of near 120 or so the COR of a driver does not increase your distance.   The average player does not swing fast enough with a driver with a cor of 90 to compress the face enough to get any added distance.

Yes, I will occassionally play a non-conforming driver when I'm out for fun.  All my playing buddies love it as they out drive me!  Actually I have 2 of them.  One has a cor of 86 and the other is a cor of 90-92.  NO - I did not gain any distance at all.  Though the Integra 175 only weighs in at 240 grams.  And no - I gain no more distance over my Callaway Edge.  Its just a fun club to swing!

The Integra 175 is made as a 90-92 cor with a special heat treated titanium face and will not dent.  It is NOT a shaved driver.  The shaved drivers can dent if you have a swing speed of greater then 100 and have a driver shaved to 90 cor.

So, get over it.....I'll never play with you guys anyway : )  I'm out there for pure fun, I don't care what the USGA says about cor, any more then what I care about the UCI says about seat setback on a TT bike.

When I played in 1 tournament, the only one I ever entered, I used a Callaway Edge : )

I like what everyone is talking about shaving driver. I have played in about 4 pro am. Our pro in one event had the same driver I had same loft ,flex, same shaft this was about 6 years ago . He was out driving me 40 yards , I said let me hit that thing picked up 25 yards and he just looked and me and laugh. He said a good shave makes you look better . I had no clue what he was talking about but I do NOW.You really think they play with what we do ( come on).

They don't shave them if they want to remain legal. I know that.

    • Day 36 (16 Dec 25) - continued the exaggerated left foot weight shift trigger adding some easy low flighted pitches with the 5h and a few putting style bump and runs with the 5h as well.

    • Has anyone played the new Maxfli forged irons? For the first time in I don't know how many years, they have come out with new clubs. From what I read, Maxfli was bought by Taylor Made a long time ago which then took all of their ball making technology and patents in order to get into that market. The club business was left to whither and the reorganized company, now a part of Dicks / Golfworks / Maltby, is producing these new clubs. (Their Tour X balls which I play are really good.) Anyway, I tried them both out at Golf Galaxy. There's a player's distance iron (XC-3) and a blade (XC-2) and both feel really, really nice, almost "Mizuno-like" in their soft buttery feel and they're a bargain at $800 for a set. I'm planning to ditch my Titleist's and want to go back to a forged iron. I almost pulled the trigger on the Mizuno Pro-245's last summer, but a damaged tendon sheath in my finger combined with a back injury messed up my golf game so I held off. Now the Pro-245's are no longer available, soon to be replaced by the MX-15. (At twice the price of the Maxfli's...that's what got my attention in the first place.) If anyone has played with the new Maxfli's or just tried them out like I did, let me know what you think.
