My club www.chgc.co.uk celebrates its centenary next year. Last night was the book launch.Loads of beer and a mumbling,bumbling speech by the club president and a load of waffle by the Mayor was followed by the evenings highlight. A few words from Peter Alliss.
Describing the club as an Oasis of greenary in the metropolis of London he said we were the only club he knew with 65 Kebab shops within ten minuites of the gate! Take a look of the Photo on the home page.Behind the clubhouse are the skyscrapers of London.Someone obviously thought it would be better to airbrush them out.
Anyway ,100 years! I wonder if we will get a card from the Queen ?
