A Deal with Myself

Like many people, I switch equipment, frequently. Not so much going from different types of irons (I play blades) but different brands. What I've found out after spending too much money is this:

The clubs only make a difference when you're struggling. Now, I'm just referring to myself. If my swing is off, it's off with everything. Plus, the blades I play with are stupid easy to hit, are forgiving and bigger than blades from yesteryear. I've seen, thanks to video, that when I struggle I actually speed up my routine and more importantly, speed up my takeaway. (Sin number 1 in my opinion)

How I've fixed that is by seeing someone for some professional lessons, practice my takeaway religiously and realized that by relaxing I can actually slow everything down. (I've promised myself not to slow down to the point that I'm playing 5 hour rounds )

The deal Ive made is 1) remember everything in the above paragraph and 2) stop buying clubs.

I'll try and post a video a.s.a.p. I'd really like to get some feedback from the swing gurus.

Everyone goes for new equipment when their swing is suffering. It's kind of ridiculous. The fact of the matter is, that a properly fitted club that is forgiving enough for you is as good as the next one. Everyone who is having problems grasps at straws, hoping to find that one piece of equipment that brings them back.
