Almost spring, some random golf thoughts

Well, it is 5 and getting ready to leave work. Haven't had a day off (besides weekends) since January 1st. Lots of fun. Saving my Vacation for Tourneys this summer, do they really all have to be during the week?? We do have jobs.

Went to the range last weekend both days. Went ok. A little off. Body is really sore from the gym and I hate mats. I got a new driver, Like it, just too stiff. Sent the shaft back for the non-tour version. Getting it tomorrrow. Hopefully if the last of the snow melts I can get some golf in. It will be sloppy and nasty but at least I get to take a few divots and go on a walk.

I am curious about how I am going to play. I recently read the s & t book. I like the results but haven't had a chance to really play. I really need to focus on aim. I have always pulled the ball and now I have to aim slightly open and I am playing a push draw, almost straight. It is much more controllable. I hope to score well. I want to make some birdies when the season starts.

I've been using the putting tutor at home. I use the pro setting now and rarely hit the marbles. I think that is pretty good and the point, to start the ball on the line you intend to. I also work on a 15 foot chip. I am pretty good at it and pretty consistant. Maybe I will hole a few this year.

I am really happy with my bag now. I have irons I have confidence in, putter feels really good, wedges are sharp and new, and a new driver (hopefully works with the shaft I am getting tommorow). It does have a mean sound and great look to it. Old trusty 5 wood is still as great as ever. I also have 3 dozen pro v1 practices that are new and some new golf shirts.

I can't wait to play.
