Men's club skins game

Now that the weather is improving, more and more people are coming out to play. So today, in the skins game, we had 20+ players. Thankfully, I was in the first group.

Once again I had that 168 uphill par 3. As I hit the shot, I felt myself swing too hard and tighten my grip. With my old 3 iron, which is what I needed for this shot, I would have played the ball out about 20 yards left of the green to compensate for the wicked slice that I produced with this club. But with my new 4 iron, I aimed at the left side of the green to compensate for a little wind. And sure enough the ball landed on the left fringe of the green. Easy 2 putt for par.

I wasn't going to wait around for all the groups to finish and then skins added up. But for the first time, I finished with a little confidence that I actually got a skin.

Today, I shot a 90

In my bag:

One for slicing
One for hooking
One for knocking it in the cup

      This isn't going to show you lateral dispersion at all. It's basically just a radar (for speed) launch monitor. It doesn't measure spin or anything like that. Not even launch direction.

      PGA Tour Makes Sweeping Changes Starting in 2028

      Interesting changes. The idea of relegation and promotion have always been there in a different form (getting and losing your card etc and qualifying for bigger events) but it looks like they want to define it better for top tier events. The Tour has always had A and B level events (and even lower). It will be interesting what they choose as the Challenger Series events and whether some tournaments go to the Challenger Series that used to be prestigious. Not sure how the networks will take to this knowing they have “Challenger” Series events defined that way now. Also, I’m not happy that John Henry and Theo Epstein are involved. Look what Henry has done to the Red Sox.
