Rounds from 4/9-4/11

Played three times this weekend, didn't play great but have a few takeaways:

1) I need to take my game from the range to the course. I hit it great on the range all three days while warming up, but just can't translate that to doing well on the course. I'm going to play some "simulated" rounds on the range while practicing to work on my tempo. I get quick and come over the top.

2) My chipping was horrendous. I started trying to help the ball into the air because I was playing a lot of tight lies in the early season, and skulled a BUNCH of shots. I shot a 91 on Friday that could have easily been an 84 or so, it was horrendous. I've been practicing in the house with wiffle balls and working on just getting through the ball by rocking the shoulders. Need a lot of work here, and will find tight lies to practice on.

3) Buddy that was down showed me a great technique for picking the ball clean out of fairway bunkers. Very simply, take two or three more clubs then needed for the distance, and just hit a half shot out, picking it clean. I had a TON of success with this on Sunday (played The Club at Viniterra which is a championship level course with a lot of bunkers).

4) Went to a demo day on Thursday where a few reps had a Trackman available, realized that "too high" ball flight is just right for optimal distance. Really liked the i15 and Superfast TP that I hit that day.
