I've had some horrific rounds off the tee lately, so decided to get a lesson. Started off hitting 7irons. Swing felt good and I was hitting little draws. Pro didn't really tweak anything in the swing, just noticed that tempo and "hitting" versus "swinging" is the main issue. I get too quick and come over the top. Also, I want to rotate around my body versus swinging down the line. Worked on tempo and swinging to the target and hit a bunch of good shots in a row.

Moved to a 3wd. Here he did tweak my grip a bit, my right thumb was on top of the club and hindering release. Moved it over to the left side of the club, and immediately saw a BIG difference. Amazing. Again, worked on tempo and swinging down the line, along with the grip. At the end I was hitting nice little draws off the deck with good distance. Same drill with the driver, tempo and swinging down the line resulted in a series of nice shots. Simple stuff.

Only other thing is I'll get handsy from time to time, so I'm working on pulling with the left side. This really stems from the "hitting" versus "swinging" the club issue though.
