I got to sneak in a quick 9 today at a short track right in the city. This is a course that is short and I feel like I should play better on it than I usually do. Putting is always tough there though since the greens are a little bit "trick" but there also generally in pretty bad shape.

Anyway, I don't have time to type up a report on every hole, but the gist of the round was that I struck the ball the best and most consistently out of any round yet this season. Unfortunately, I had way too many putts to score well. I had GIR on 3 of 4 par 3s and 3-putt two of them and 4-putt the other! Ugh. Still looking for a round where I put it all together. So, that was good news. I also only hit my driver on one hole - the opening par 5. I'm really trying to limit the use of the driver as it gets me into so much trouble. Today isn't going to help though as I striped a perfect ball right in the center of the fairway.

The other good news is that I realized a big portion of my problems from Wednesday were related to tempo and commitment to the shot. Of course, I'll take that with a grain of salt and wait until the next time I play to see if that's really the case, but in the meantime I'll feel good about it. I think when I get fast with my swing, I don't slide my hips, rather I tend to lean my upper body towards the target and then I get shanks or fat shots.
