after a long season i looked back at which club i really felt comfortable with no matter what, and hit great shots with. my favorite club was my 58° cleveland DSG wedge. my up and downs were outstanding this year and i pulled alot of great shots off with it! tell me what your favorites were

Has to be the R7 425 TP . . . why . . . well today at the range i was next to someone using the new McGreagor driver and the sound that it made . . . :( then i hit the TP and it felt and sounded so pure, like music to my ears. It puts the aesthetic experience back in golf, something that has been misplaced. Maybe I hit the HiBore a tad farther but I LOVE to hit the R7 TP, it feels and sounds great, plus the trajectory and workability is pure golf heaven.

Precept Tour Premium 60 degree, 4 degree bounce lob wedge. Extremely versatile and I can even stop and/or reel back two piece balls with it

My newest edition to the bag for 2006, my Cobra F Speed 3 Wood. Straightest club in the bag and regularly hitting it 225yrds - 260yrds. Big club for me and getting the extra yardage is helping on the shorter par 4's and even some of the longer ones (course management and all).

Best club all time, Titleist Vokey wedges, 52, 56 & 60 degree, gets me out of all sorts of trouble.

I'd have to go with my entire set of Mizuno MP-60's because I picked them up so late in the season, and was only able to get a few rounds in before all the courses began to shut down. (Just a joy to hit!).

2 clubs actually:

2 shockers. First I needed a new putter and didn't want to spend money. I spent about 20 minutes trying out putters and walked out with a 20 dollar (discounted from a ding) Wilson putter. This thing has been amazing for me. Too bad it's falling apart. lol

Secondly, a bigger shocker, my late season acquisition of a Slingshot hybrid. I never liked hybrids til this thing. To quote Dana Quigley, '...this feels like cheating.' I was shocked how much I can put into a swing with this thing. Too bad I got it so late in the season.

    • I'm good with the bunkers, and the fairways are SUPER wide. Three yards should stop a ball that isn't landing in it from rolling into the hay.
    • I'm a little behind, but I just finished listening to the episode about practicing while on vacation.  I have two vacations coming up this month that I won't be bringing golf clubs with me on, and this was perfectly timed (I'm sure I am not the only one going on vacation in June).   Especially the part about stretching.  I keep putting off adding stretching, with golf in mind, to my daily routine.  I think I'm going to use these upcoming vacations, the first of which I'm flying off to on Thursday, as a way to get into this habit.   For anyone else interested, Fit For Golf (see sidebar) has fantastic stretching routines (some of which, I think, are on their free area).  I really should get back to doing their main exercises too.  I don't have any affiliation with them beyond "satisfied customer," in case that sounds like an ad. I may end up posting in the 5 minutes thread when I do golf stretches if it's my only practice that day... as if I don't already sound like a broken mp3 with my 10-15 minutes hitting indoors part. And back to the topic:  anyone not caught up on the podcast should consider catching up and listen to that episode, especially if you're going on a non-golf vacation this summer and want some practice ideas that aren't the at-home practice routine from LSW about long bunker shots (which I am sure we all do regularly).
    • Mostly pull cuts to slices. Some random pull draw/hooks pending of I hit the toe.
    • What's the rest of that story? Where was the ball going?
    • The criticisms are starting already 🤣 U.S. Open pro criticizes Shinnecock green conditions: 'Bumpy' After playing his first practice round at the 2026 U.S. Open, Michael Kim offered a less-than-glowing review of Shinnecock's "bumpy" greens.   The sand, I don't care about that. If the greens didn't come back as well for latest aerification, that would be a bit of a blunder on Shinnecock I think.
