Practice 7/21

Hot as hell today so practice was a little rough, tough to stay focused. Hit 7irons trying to figure out why I'm pull/drawing everything. Worked on pushing the club straight back on the takeaway and this helped a lot. Also, I switched back to my MX23s which have quite a bit of offset so I demo'd some clubs with less (R9TP and A7s). Not sure if it was just better swings or what, but I hit the demo clubs quite a bit better then the 23s. A7s can be had pretty cheap so I'll look into it.

Hit a bunch of drivers just to mess around and see what the differences were between the different combos. Grips were sweaty which caused me to put a death grip on the club and hit a bunch of cuts, but was pretty consistent. Also felt myself hanging back on my back leg, something I saw in video last time, so I need to work this out.

Also worked on chipping issues. Figured out that I've been swaying, which is causing the inconsistent contact, and catching it thin. Put the feet together and was amazed how much better contact I was making, have to keep working this and bring it to the course. Worked on hitting on tight lies now that summer is in full swing, got some confidence with this lie and also learned that sometimes it's better to break out the 9i and bump it. Good session overall.
