Played 5 or 6 different courses since my last entry. I've been playing right at my 20 handicap (with one or two in the high 80's and a blow up round of 98 also), but I feel like I'm going down soon. One problem....off the damn tee. My slice is getting worse. I sliced one so bad on Saturday I put it in the woods across 2 fairways. I lost 4 balls on Saturday and 6 balls last Sunday (on a longer and more difficult course). Shot 93 both days though. I've been putting and chipping way better. Putting especially. I don't know how or why, but I've been putting fantastic. My average is under 2 putts per hole and I used to be happy not 3 putting a hole. Which is freakin awesome! I used to putt horribly and now I have a lot of confidence. So, my wayward drives are being offset by my short game. I figure if I can stay out of the trees off the tee, my handicap is going to go down in a hurry.

A guy that is a 5 or so and seems to know more about the game than me gave me a little advice on Saturday. One, he mentioned that I was lining up more right than what I thought I was. Which was correct. He showed me a trick on how to line up where I want by putting the club across my hips. Two, I was standing too close to the ball off the tee and had no choice but to cut across. By the end of the day I sorted out the alignment and was hitting the fairway. But, it was only because I was aiming left and slicing it back. Which, is fine if it's predictable, but I'm loosing a ton of distance that way.

I'm going to try some things at the range after work tonight and see how it goes. Once I get this driver sorted out, my weekend group better watch out.
