Forgettable round today. From the blues (6816 yards 71.9/127) a 90 43/47. 4 FW and 6 GIR, 36 putts for a 16.1 differential, which X .96 = my handicap. FW and GIR stats are a bit misleading because I missed a few FW by 3-5 yards and rolled through at least 3 greens to the fringe or rough. I hit the ball decently, but it didn't matter if I missed the green by 2 feet or 50 yards because my short game absolutely sucked, especially my putting. I did save par one time by chipping in, but that was the only bright spot of the short game.

The greens are becoming hard and baked, even brown and cracking in places. If I had over 150 yards into the green I played it links style and bounced it up because anything over an 8i isn't sticking. A couple of times the inconsistant fairways in front of the greens gave me funny bounces to the right or left, but overall I was successful in playing like this. I can't believe with as much water is on this course they can't keep the greens from baking out. Last week I played a practice round with a couple of prov1x's to maybe hold some more greens with 5i-7i, but all it did was give me more sidespin off the tee which isn't a good thing for my game. I'm back to playing my two piece rock balls. Yesterday it was Noodle long and soft.

More thoughts later on my new clicgear 3.0 push cart and keeping the concentration level up in 90 degree heat.

    • No…? When we edit the title of topics, a little note appears.
    • Rush or delay your own pace and you are probably going to suffer in the long run. PGA pro are well oiled machines that work on an specific pace, it's not surprise that if you move them out of their normal routine things are going to go sideways. I normally don't rush shots, but I sometimes delay the trigger if I'm not feeling it. The result is a lack of athleticism, I kind of get a little stiff and I could loose some yards and accuracy.
    • It seems like the title to this thread may have been edited. Super hilarious BTW.
    • Argentina: I read about the 3 or 4 clubs challenge in several countries. Here in Argentina, once a year, on several clubs, "Torneo de Brujas" (The witches tournament) is played. It consist on the same concept, only 4 clubs are allowed but the difference is that only woman can play it. What amaze me is that the winning scores are almost the same as if they were playing with all 14 clubs. Seems like sorcery to me..
