Now, that's what I'm talking about.

Our 2nd match of the season we played Palmetto Ridge High School and got our first win. The rest of the kids finally picked up some slack today and we got work done. I shot 36 (even). Another kid shot 36 (I think that's his best ever), our transfer from South Carolina shot a 39, and another kid shot a 41. I think we won by about 25 shots today. Not bad.

Our next match is next week Tuesday, and is another home match.

Here are some of the things that I've been focusing on lately to help me shoot consistently lower scores (I was about a 3 handicap 2 weeks ago. Since I started focusing on these aspects, I'm about a +1 for my last 4 rounds):
Taking my time: Take a deep breath and focus on the task at hand. Don't think too hard in between shots. That causes mental wear and tear, and you won't be able to focus at all towards the end of the round.
Routine: Do the same thing every time. I have a set routine in place for my irons and driver, and for my chipping and putting.
Taking more club: I've hit more and more greens every time I go out because I take a little more club than I need to. If I'm in between clubs, I ALWAYS take the longer one. Knocking a little bit off it is not difficult, and is much more accurate.
Play smartly: If I don't like my driver one day, I'll hit 4 or 5 irons off the short par 4's to get in the middle of the fairway and have myself a good 150 into the pin. Play to your strengths.

That's about all the crap I got for you now.

I have to go do some homework.

And then burn it.
