My wife and I were looking to go to Florida this winter to check out the good Ole' Sunshine State. We have always heard about the Golf down there and man was the hype all it was drawn out ot be and then some! I wanted to share our experience with the rest of the golf community. We searched for a few days on where some of the best golf was and where we would feel at home, we finally settled with a small town called Sebring, FL. We came across an ad that was posted advertising a golf get away. It turned out to be quite the deal. First, of course, we needed to find a resonable hotel for our stay and the ad referred us to this place called "The Quality Inn Conference Center." So what the heck, we gave them a call! Best phone call I ever made, I was put in contact with their Golf Specialist. That's right the hotel had a "Golf Specialist" he had the scoop on all the courses, best times to play, par information, I mean he knew it all. After speaking with him for a good forty-five minutes we booked with him. He gave us discount room accommodations, set up our tee times, and even gave us a 25% discount at all the courses. All in all we payed a little over three hundred for my wife and I for three night stay and four rounds of golf! If you plan on making a golf trip soon.........take my advice give this guy a call, we already got another reservation for next year and another for June 2011. His name was Greg and I believe if you call the hotel they will patch you through to him.

The hotel's number is 863-385-4500, Give the guy a call and let me know what you think, and if you wanna do a couples trip let me know. We are always looking for groups to play golf with.

See you on the Tee!!!!!!

That's right folks listen to Fred and come on to Florida, you need the sunshine and we need the revenue. At least thats what I gather from looking at the weather hitting the US Midwest and the European states. You are getting slammed and it isn't even winter yet.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Sebring has some great courses and the value is incredible.  I did a trip last year (and I live in Florida) just because it was so reasonable.

I'm new to golf, just picking it up at the ripe old age of 37-ish. I've lived in Sebring for the past six years and it's nice to hear from "outsiders," or should I say, "visitors," who love the courses on offer here. So far, I've only played at Country Club of Sebring and Golf Hammock and I'm as green as they come.

That said, if you're looking for anything else to do while here in Highlands County, I would suggest Highlands Hammock State Park for a walk into what Florida used to look like; we have the best cycling in the state if you're into motorcycles or bicycles, there's the great fishing lakes of Istokpoga (airboat rides too!) and we only have a few good local eatery joints but they are awesome.....Cowpokes Watering Hole, Wild Turkey, Yianni's and Charlies. Chicanes is great too.

Heck, maybe the next time you guys are in town, I'll be good enough to help you round out a foursome!
