New Port RIchey, Florida

I lucked out and this winter. My wife has agreed to go visit her god parents in Florida in a couple of weeks, and my in-laws will be there as well, so my mornings are free to play golf with my father-in-law!

I am looking for suggestions in the New Port Richey area in the sub $40 range. I'd like to get 4-5 rounds in, and I don't want to travel too far. I don't mind playing the same course all week.

Dates are between the 27th of Jan. to the 2nd of Feb.

I looked at Google maps and found 2 courses nearby in my price range:

Seven Springs Golf & Country and Magnolia Valley golf.

Any opinions on these courses?

Also there is an executive Gulf Habors Golf course very close to where we are staying, I thought I might hit that one the first afternoon there for a warm up round. Anyone play that track before, is it worth it?

Once you do decide on a course, go ahead and write a review in our "Courses" section so others can check it out. There are a bunch of courses already listed in Tampa, but they might be a bit of a drive from Port Richey.

I played both those courses while on my trip down. Magnolia valley was nice, but was surprised me was the "brown" grass at both courses, but I was told it's because the grass is dormant for the winter.

Magnolia Valley was a little but short for me, and I am not a long hitter.

Seven Springs was very nice...greens are fast!! At least compared to northern courses that I normally play on.

Got out every morning around 7:30. Sundays round took all of 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete!

I was very happy to be playing in the middle of winter!
