Hi All,

This is a few shots with a 7 iron. They are DTL view and only in original speed. Whenever I figure out how to do the slow motion, I will add that as well along with a Caddy view (?).

I don't have a handicap yet, but I play to a 28-30. My main issues are my iron play. I've read some on the posts on "The Impact Zone" and I'm currently reading the book. My main focus right now is to get the swing dynamics right, hitting 4 inches on the target side of the ball, but I realize I have a long way to go!

I've only played golf for about 7 months so I am willing to change anything about my swing. I doesn't really work well at the moment and I really need to know what to work on.

I would appreciate any feedback you can give.

Swing more from inside to out..short shots...learn to curve the ball slightly from right to left. You appear to be starting with the upper body rather than sliding your hips as they are turning to initiate the forward path. Also hit some punch shots keeping both arms straight after impact as I sense a left arm "chicken wing" as it appears too early around your body

Hi Canadianpro,

Thanks for your feedback, I realize it's not much to work on with only that mobile phone video.

When you say inside to outside you mean I should have a steeper swing plane and then hit "out" on the ball? I feel like my shots are going mostly slightly right already, and my gut feeling (which have proved wrong many times in golf!) would be that I would push the shot more if I don't change to a more closed clubface. My previous problem was the strong draw or hook on shots, which got better after trying to hit down on the ball (with aim and divot on target side of the ball) instead of trying to hit the ball.

I also use a 10 finger grip, which I realize is not optimal after reading a few other blogs. When I had my first lesson the Pro told me to use whatever grip felt comfortable, and at the time holding a golf club in general felt uncomfortable so I stuck with the 10 finger grip. When I recently tried to change to an overlapping grip, the shots went all over the place.. even with my wedges.

Finally, regarding the punch shots, I will try to spend my next indoor driving session doing those. It is something I have never practised before. If I understand right I will basically not release the cocked wrist and not finish the follow through?

I have tried to start with my hips first in the downswing, and although I feel like I get much more power (and a fairly clean contact), I feel less balanced and like I am "swaying" a bit. I it something I should continue to practice on?

Thanks for you comments.
