How is your golf league setup?

I am running a league for the second year and last year, in addition to mixing in 3 fun Ryder cup Rounds, based our payouts on a full season.  So we first played a round-robin (we have 12 teams total) and then used the standings to determine the last 4 weeks of team play.  The point being that everybody played everybody and we did payouts for team play only at the end of the year.

In previous years we did a first half/second half payout and some people are wanting to go back to that.  Does anyone have suggestions for how they run their league?  My problem with that is, because we have 12 teams, each half would consist of 7 matches and then you get into a situation of some people having a harder schedule than others.

Wish there were some responses, but this is what we decided to do, being a 12 team, 18 week league.

3 nights are dedicated to Ryder Cup (this has been the norm)

The league will be divided into two halves.  The first "half" is 11 weeks of round-robin play with payouts to the top 4 teams.  Teams will then be seeded by their round-robin standings for an end of the year 4-week tournament, with the top 4 teams getting a first round bye.

Teams on a bye and all teams that lose will compete for a weekly $25 team prize (team low net, etc.) and teams still in the tournament win money every round they win - $25 for Round 1, $50 for round 2, $100 for round 3, and $200 for the tournament champ.
