Played 7 rounds at the following courses.

Caledonia ( Great as always!!)

True Blue (Great as always!!))

King's North ( Great layout and the "Gambler" hole was wild!)

Founder's Club ( AWESOME GREENS, and loved the layout, a MUST play)

Willbrook ( Great course in great condition)

DeBordieu   ( A private course. Pete Dye and his son desgined it, probably the best two finishing holes I've ever played)

World Tour -  ( PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY. An absolute DOG track. It is probably worse than the worst Muni I have ever played on)

Staff at World Tour were nice, but the conditions were embarrasing. We were shocked at how bad it was...

Thanks for the heads up - good news on King's North and Willbrook as we'll be heading down in a few weeks and those are 2 of the courses on our schedule.  We are not playing True Blue or Caledonia this year but I agree with you, they are both always great courses.

Besides King's North and Willbrook, we're scheduled to play Legends Moorland, Lion's Eye, Tiger's Paw, and Leopards Chase, Tradition, and Wild Wing.

I had not heard of the DeBordieu course before, do you have to have a connection to get off there if it's a private course?

Yes, DeBordieu is a private course and our Pro knows one of their Pros, otherwise I hear it's impossible to get off on this course. Everytime we told a local we were playing DeBordieu they would look at us with a, "How did you get on there" look...

You will like Willbrook and King's North. You won't forget the "Gambler" hole.  Tradition is a good track, but I haven't played any of the others you mention. Depending on where you're staying, you will be driving a bit to get to Willbrook and Tradition if you're staying up in North Myrtle Beach so give yourself time with traffic in the morning.

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
