During my last 2 rounds I've noticed my 52,56 and 60 wedges all go the same distance. They go between 85-95 yards. What can cause just my wedges to do this? All my other irons are good

Probably flipping the 56, and the 52 even more.  Happens to me too with short irons, something about the shorter shaft and higher trajectory that causes me to scoop at the PW/GW sometimes.  Try practicing some half swings where all you're focused on is solid contact and a lower trajectory.  When that feels good take full swings but try to keep it at 85% instead of 100%.  Swinging harder with a short iron/wedge often just leads to more spin and more height, but no extra distance.

Thanks for the response. I've never heard of flipping before, but after researching what flipping was I Decided to check for it on the range. Sure enough that's what I was doing and me swinging harder seemed to make it worst. Now I have to slowly break mysel of this. I just find it weird that I only do that with my wedges.

It is weird-if I'm hitting 3-7 iron I'm 97% sure of how far the ball is going to travel (w/ in 5-8 yds or so).  But get a short iron/wedge in my hand, and I'm only about 85% sure, because every once in a while I throw a nice flip in there and hit an extra high shot that's 10-15 yds short of what I was expecting.  Taking one extra club and not swinging hard with wedges has been the most important step I've made in cutting down on the ugly scoop shots.

    • No, but I spent (marginally) less time in the trees at Southern Pines, so it definitely played wider for me 😆. It definitely felt wider.
    • Have you measured? 🙂
    • I'm bad about taking pictures, but here are a few Hole 1 on Duke, looking toward the green. The elevated green with bunkers surrounding it was a theme. The other theme was pin placements that were tough - this one is pretty far left. There were basically no easy pins on this day.     Hole 3 at Pine Needles. An extremely cool hole. Hole 5 at Pine Needles. The picture doesn't do the green site justice. Green of 6 at Southern Pines. A wild green, and a really cool setting at the edge of the property: Hole  Tee shot on 5 at Tobacco Road. Flag is on the flag, the huge fairway is to the right. Hole 8 at Tobacco Road. Downhill, medium length par 3 with this pin in the front part of the green. Really cool looking shot. A look at the pin placement and cottage on Tobacco Road 14. I hit one of my best shots of the trip here, to about 15 feet.
    • Yes, but season 2 being all of six episodes is a bit of a let-down, even if the season itself wasn't.
    • This is one of the greatest posts I've ever seen in my life on sports message boards like this!! Bravo, Sir!! 👏
