I am 99.9% sure I am purchasing the King Cobra Speed Pro D this weekend.

I just wanted to know what your previous experiences were with Cobra drivers. Thanks .

When I'm swinging well, I love my Cobra driver. My current driver is my second from Cobra. I've generally liked their products very much, especially the baffler, of which I now have two. Good luck with your new driver!

i was in the exact same position as you last weekend. I was 99 percent sure I was getting the King Cobra F-Speed. And when i went there. And tried it out I was hitting about 240-250 and straight every once in awhile. Then i was smart and decided to try and Nike Sasquatch which was the exact same price. Sure enough it hit it 20 yards further and straighter. I also realized this type of cobra was for people who want to get the ball higher also. So i went with the Nike and im sure i Made a good choice. I love the sound and all cuz i always use my friends 460sz. So before you buy it. try a different brand around the same price and compare.

One thing, I'm buying a X-Speed, not a F-Speed. My swing speed is over 100 and my ball speed is around 160, the driver sets up perfect for me.

And another, I'm stripping it 290+ yards, in 45* weather, with 15mph wind coming into me.

I will my pants when I try it out in decent weather.

Watch out Tiger .

P.S.- Tried the SQ Nike, not my cup of tea, although I still carry last years SQ 3-wood.

As u can see below "In My Bag" that i have the SZ. I tried the Launcher, Callaway, & Ping G2 at the time, and hit the Cobra way more consistently. No problems at all. I'm almost dreading to have to "upgrade" my driver down the road judging by some of the things coming out now.

Last time I used a Cobra driver must have been 20 years ago, it was persimmon and had a black and white fibre insert and a DG X100 in it :)

I actually used about half a dozen of them back then. I used to get on well with the cobra rep for Australia and was working in a pro shop at the time and we used to sell off all the Cobra hand made specials they took around to Aussie tournaments for their tour players to choose from. Whatever they didn't want (or they tried and gave back) would end up getting sold through our shop and I'd pick what I liked.

They weren't your usual Cobra persimmon drivers either, these were all hand shaped and sat square to open with lots of bulge and roll and with different lofts and every type of inlay combination you could imagine, red, red and white, black and white etc and they usually had funky screw patterns as well, sometimes six screws like the old Macgregors, all sorts of things. You'd also see a variety of nonstandard colours, honey, black, clear, burgundy, they usually just came in a dark brown as standard. A lot of them would be not normal Cobra head shapes either, deep face, shallow face, some that looked like very strong 3 woods, all sorts of stuff.
