searing pain in my hand while driving off a tee today!

I've been playing golf for about 8 years now.. I will be a junior in highschool, will definitely be playing there! however, today it was probably the fourth hole and I went to hit from the tee, and just when I followed through with my swing, I all of a sudden felt this searing pain straight through my hand and my wrist.. this has never happened to me before! has it happened to you? and what do you think it could have been? ( I was using a macgregor NVG2 lady's draw driver) been using this club for a whole season... so it's not like I had adjustment problems.

Yep.

1. Take the pain seriously. Maybe get it looked at by a doctor if it is still there or comes back. There are lots of small bones and tendons in your hands and wrists. It is easy to damage one or more of them. Hand and wrist issues often do not just go away when ignored. And you will not play your best if your hands hurt when you swing.

2. I find that I feel pain in my lead hand and wrist when I cast the club. (Talk about feedback.) I had thumb surgery a few years ago and any casting leads to reminder pain. BTW, I have no idea how I hurt my thumb other than it was during a drive that went pretty well as I screamed out in pain -- straight and about 80% of the distance of a really good drive. Club never even touched the ground and yet I ruptured a tendon.
