I went in to the local Roger Dunn today to kill some time and jumped on the simulator. I hit 20 drives, with the Adams Speedline F11. Here are the results:

Swing speed avg: 101.71 but I cranked one out at 109 that probably would have been the ugliest slice I've ever seen.

Ball Velocity avg: 149.2

Launch Angle :17.9

Ball spin: 2419...seems low for my swing speed

Carry: 252.8

Total Distance: 280.8

PTR%: 146.7...I have no idea what the hell this even is.

I guess my question is pertaining to whether or not my launch angle is okay, and does my ball spin seem low relative to my swing speed?

Thanks in advance.

The article is a little dated, but maybe there's still some relevent information:

According to the franklygolf chart, your spin rate is where it needs to be for your swing speed.  However, your launch angle is too high at 17.9 (should be 13).

As a side note, take the information from launch monitors with a grain of salt (sometimes with a whole bag of salt).  If you can, go to different retailers and have your specs cross-checked on the different systems.  IME, some machines can be off by quite a bit.

Recently, my bud were toying with the idea of changing irons.  So, we went to our local golf retailer and demo'd some different irons on their launch monitor.  We tested the 7i from different brands and after some warm ups, both my bud and I were getting some ridiculous numbers.  Basically, we were hitting those 7is 190 to 200.  Knowing this was BS, we pulled the 7is from our bag and tested those too.  Guess what?  The system was reading the same 190 - 200 distances.  Pfffft.  On a really good day, if struck perfectly with every once of swing speed, I can get my 7i to carry 165.  That's it.  Even with the help of a cart path, I still don't think I'll be able to get 190 out of my 7i.

Thanks for the response man! I actually found out that the launch angle reads a bit high on the monitors by three or four degrees, which if true, puts me right around an appropriate launch angle. They didn't have an explanation for this, so I can't be 100% sure...but one thing I do know for sure is that I'm hitting my Adams Speedline F11 further and straighter than I've ever hit a driver in my life. The distance and deviation seem to be fairly accurate on the monitor, but of course that is only judging from my most recent round. Anyways, just got a new HD camera and am hoping to get back to the range sometime this week and do some filming. Will post some videos when I do.
