Length and Lie versus swing plane

Hi folks,

I've noticed that lately as my golf has started coming along nicely I've been making adjustments to the way I grip my clubs and it's started playing on my mind as to whether I'm doing it because there's a problem with my shaft lengths and lie angles or whether it's psychological.

More often than not I tend to grip my clubs choked-down a varying amount depending on the club, e.g. more or less this amount:

Driver = ~2"

3W = ~2"

3H = ~2"

4i = ~1.75"

5i = ~1.5"

6i = ~1.5"

7i = 1.5"

8i = 1"

9i = 1"

PW = 1"

50 = 0.5"

54 = 0.5"

58 = 0.5"

I also feel like I'm standing far too close to the ball a lot of the time, especially with shorter irons/wedges but when I back off a little the angle between forearms and shaft feels like it's too flat.

I've measured my swing plane with the driver and it's more or less at 35 degrees inclination to the ground so I'm wondering if there's a way to figure out if a combination of my height (5'7"), left wrist to floor measurement in driver stance (30") and inclination to the ground (35 degrees) to calculate if it's likely a club problem rather than psychological? I realise I can pay out a load of cash for a dynamic fitting but if there's a way to get a ballpark idea first I'd rather take that route and then if it's likely a club issue I don't feel so bad paying out.
