new to the site and to Los Angeles

hello to all...

new to the site and currently a new resident of the great "sun shine" state, and "gold country" of CA. Specifically Los Angeles. iv been practicing, practicing, playing a lil, and practicing some more in the short time I've been here; mainly b/c i have a range 1/2 mile up the street and dedicated to play some great golf. if there even is such a thing?? back home(Baltimore, MD) it wasn't as accessible, mainly weather permitting, even though we have very nice courses that are playable 6 maybe 7 months out of the year. i haven't re calculated my new handicap for some time, but should be coming soon. usually around 9-13. I'm excited to be apart of my first golf "forum site", even more so excited about picking the brain of some of the true talents of the game that surly "lurk" around on these forums. anyone out there from los angeles that can give info on the local courses/ "grass" driving range/ tournaments/ ext., would be greatly appreciated
