Hi peeps I am new to the site but due to taking on board excellent tips from reading the website I decided to join and this is my first post so if I am in the wrong section sorry, my question is I am currently 17 and play about once a fortnight last time I was at my local course I got chatting to a bloke who reckons he plays off a 2 handicap and he trains egleast 2 hours a day, despite costing a lot of money and time if you practised for say 6 hours every day for years do you think you would easily get a scratch handicap ?

Quality is better than quantity.

If you're practicing regularly and practicing correctly then you'll improve. If you're practicing incorrectly then no amount of practice will make you a better golfer.

It is definitely possible. Take a look at this book. Guy went from not being able to break 100 to breaking par at his home course in a year.
