I actually bought one already. The price of the club is of bargain variety. I have hit my golf partners hybrids, though not much success. I still hit my 3 iron with more height and distance than the hybrid. But trying to hit a 3 iron from 200+ yards off the rough is an almost impossible shot for me so I am entertaining the thought of a hybrid club.

The hybrid I bought is a Tour Edge Exotic 3H 18 degrees.

The price is ---- yes $16.00. Funny thing is that the store gave me a brand new cover which cost more than the club itself...hahahaha.

There are no dents on the club at all. The grip is excellent.

Question: The Face has scratches on it, nothing deep. No dimples. Grooves look good.

Should I be worried with the scratches on the club face ? If I ran my finger nails on the scratches, it does not 'catch' my fingernail....again the scratches are visible but not deep.

Thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't worry about it, especially if the scratches don't catch.  I've seen clubs A LOT more beat up that function fine

Light scratches will not have any effect on the ball flight. When the scratches are deep enough to have your nail catch on them, or there is "shrapnel" protruding around the scratch (points on the scratch, sharp edge on the scratch, possibility of being cut by rubbing the scratch with your finger) - these are what you want to avoid. Though something this severe would be obvious.

Thanks much for your responses.

Played a round of golf today. The 3H worked perfect. I finally got a 3 iron distance hitting from light rough. I was able to reach the green from 215 out with this hybrid. Ball flew with lots of height and ball had a tight spin on it.

As advised by store personnel I bought the club from, I played the hybrid like I would a long iron instead of hitting it like a fairway wood. Got solid contact with it this way.

Great purchase for $16.00.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.

    • Day 3 (23 Jun 26) - Grandson put in to play this morning when he arrived at the house.  He wanted to play a full 18 from the "purple" tees (these are custom tees that play shorter than our gold but longer than the red) in a best (super) ball duet.  Was a great day working on course management - seeing him play well (for a 10yr old) - for example, hole 12 has a temp green about 100 yds from the tee box, he hits a solid 8i to 4' pin high and nails a birdie putt.  Could have never been prouder.  These are the moments grandfathers dream of - and hopefully the memories he will recall when his day comes to be Paw-paw for his grandson....may the game live on.
    • Posted a couple swings here. I think my attempt to blend the movement still results in a more “around” back swing?
