With the announcement of the recent Site Award Winners , I wanted to highlight our Tagging feature, which is an easy way to win one of these cool badges.  It's easy because only one member other than Erik and I used this feature last month!

What is tagging?  Why is it important?

Tags allow information from around the community to be aggregated together.  They are labels that can be added to forum posts or Wiki articles to tie pieces of content together to make relevant information easier to find.  You can also subscribe to Tags, to make sure you stay updated with with your favorite topics.

Add Tags To Forum Posts And Wiki Articles

  1. Navigate to the forum thread or Wiki article that you would like to tag.  In the right hand column, you will see the "Add/Remove Tags" button in the "Tags" section.
  2. Click the "Add/Remove Tags" button.
  3. The Tag tool will appear.  The default setting allows you to use the Autocomplete tool to find your desired tags.  Simply start typing the topics below and a related tag will appear. PastedGraphic-5.png
  4. Select tags from the list by clicking on them.  They will appear in your Queue.
  5. When you are satisfied with your selection, click "Submit"  Your tags will not be added until you click to save.

Subscribe To Tags

If you are interested in a particular topic, you might consider subscribing to a tag related to the topic.  You will be alerted when something is tagged with that topic.  These subscriptions work in the same way as a subscription to a Product or a Wiki or a forum thread.

  1. Navigate to one of the following pages listed below
  2. At the top of the page, toward the right hand side, you will see the "Subscribe to this Tag" button.

Screen Shot 2011-11-11 at 2.21.50 pm.PNG How do you tag? Look for a thing like the one you see to the right and click "Add tags!"

I will point out that you can subscribe to a tag in a few ways: by email (instantly, daily, or weekly) or "site only". The "Site Only" option will show the subscribed threads, articles, etc. in the "activity stream" on the home page (http://thesandtrap.com/) and a few other places.Yo

You can always edit your subscriptions at this URL: thesandtrap.com/users/subscriptions/index/action/edit .

But, please consider what Mike said. Tagging is a great way to help the community. We're looking particularly for our Forum Leaders to tag things. It's quick and painless.

Also, I've created a new tag: http://thesandtrap.com/tag/subscription-worthy . If there's a great thread or article, add the "subscription-worthy" tag to it. I've subscribed to the tag and it'll be a great way to alert others - even f you don't post in the thread (though hopefully you do!) - that a thread or article has some great content!

Note: It may take up to an hour for the "subscription-worthy" tag to propagate throughout the system, but we can all begin using it shortly.

And once again, with the tag all by itself so it stands out, here it is:

    • Day 86 (26 Jul 25) - Down at the beach place, had kept the clubs with me after playing yesterday.  Spent time this afternoon checking them over and brushing grooves on the wedges and irons.  Spent a few minutes working thru the swing process…working in slo mo through backswing and proper weight shift.
    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
    • Day 299 - 2025-07-26 I spent 15 minutes practicing but it was almost pointless. It wasn't good practice. I was not really in it, but I put the time in. Oh, I did some chipping work before-hand, and that was good. I could have just left after that. 🙂
