Hey everyone, I am Corey, I am 15 years old, and I have been golfing for about 12 days. See, every year my dads work sponsors a golf tournament, and they play Scramble, so they needed four people. Usually 2 people get together at work, and they each bring someone from outside of work. Well, my dad decided that I would probably enjoy golf, so he invited me. Silly me, didn't start actually learning to play until 1 week before the thing, and I realised it was harder than I thought. We didn't do too bad, we got a 77 on a 69 par course, but if it would have been me alone, I would have done terrible. Anyway, I joined here cause I could really use some pointers. First of all, I rarely even connect with the ball, and when I do, my aim is right, but I just don't get enough power. Everytime I would tee off, it would go 15 yards at the most. It is very discouraging, but I have a lot of fun with it, so I am gonna keep trying until I get it.

Don't worry about hitting it 15 yards--it happens to everyone, no matter how good they are. I could tell you a handful of embarassing shots I've had that would make even a 15 yard drive look good (one time I tagged a sign with my tee shot and the ball flew back at me--landing some 30 yards behind the tee box. The doubly embarassing part, however, was when I re-teed and did the exact same damn thing).

Anyway, yeah, welcome, I suppose, and I'm sure everyone else has their share of stories to tell.

    • Tiger’s walking at the PNC and people say he’s not limping.
    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
