Just wanted to get your point of view. I have Callaway ERC woods in my bag (3W - 16 degree and 5 wood) - and soon to arrive, a used ERC Strong 3 (12.5 degrees). I have had them since they were new - I had them re-shafted 2 years ago with Aldila NVS 55 shafts. These clubs have withstood every test of just about every new club to come to market since 2001. They continue to be among my favorites. I have always wondered whether carrying the same manufacturer (not same line as ERC are non-conforming in the driver line) between the woods into the driver plays. I would also want to consider the same shaft I use on the woods - just because it has proven itself to me without fail.

Any opinions on the theory of matching the driver to the woods and what relevance (and subsequent benefits) in might have? To be more specific, I am considering picking up a FT-9 (Draw) or Big Bertha 460 as I think they most closely compare to my wood technology. I would replace the stock shaft with the NVS 55. I realize a lot of this has to do with personal preference but anyone have a thought theoretically on this. Similar experiences? Thanks all!
