Hey all,

I have an opportunity to buy some irons and my work will pay.  So, I'm gonna get a good set.

I'm fairly new to golf but getting better and I'm thinking i should go with something that will be forgiving now but also good as I improve.

Ive been considering the ping G15 irons. Any thoughts? Advice?

First piece of advice = Get a fitting for your irons. Many places do a free fitting or if it's not free they'll take the price of the fitting off of a purchase.

Second piece of advice = The shaft is the main driving force in the swing. The wrong shaft (flex, weight, length, bend profile) will affect your swing far more than the head on the club.

Third piece of advice = Try cast iron cavity backs. Try forged cavity backs. See which you prefer.

Last piece of advice = Once you've had a fitting, go to various stores that allow you to try the clubs on the range. Go to the stores several times over a week or two and keep trying the clubs to make sure you like them and that they're right for you.

Good luck with it :)
